Our principal school yacht, Annecy, is the superb deep keeled Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 37. Annecy’s size, apportions and mannerisms under sail or power make her absolutely ideal for sail training, developing your skills or just plain enjoying yourself. She’s also more than up to the job for competitive sailing when you think you’re up to that!
Annecy is safety coded by the British MCA for up to 8 persons, although we limit the number of RYA students to just 4 for your comfort. She is fitted with the highest quality equipment throughout. The very latest electronic navigational aids are on board including a full colour chart plotter, GPS, course computer, AIS, radar and autohelm. Down below there are 3 double cabins and up to 3 berths in the saloon. The accommodation is to a very high standard and well apportioned. Having never been used in a damp climate, she’s very dry and comfortable. Not all boats are… There is a usefully configured galley and a comfortable dining area with an extending table. The yacht has hot water running throughout, electricity sockets (for the all important charging of iPhones!) and a radio/CD stereo now with an output for your iPod.
Back on deck there is a very well laid out and spacious cockpit with a large sprayhood and a folding table to suit all occasions. The stern is a true bathing platform and is ideal for swimming off, equipped with a swim ladder and a convenient step back into the cockpit. There is even a hot water shower to rinse that salt off!
Annecy is run with a set of performance Tri-Radial sails fitted as standard along with an additional battened working headsail (Kemp/Hyde) which is for your extended learning experience – New Sails in 2020. She also carries a storm jib. Annecy is also available for our DWP (downwind package) using Symetric and Asymetric spinnakers.
