“Let yourself be carried by the winds and savour the unique pleasure of sailing aboard the Sun Odyssey 36i”….
That’s what the brochure says and they’re not far wrong! Ours even has the advantage that she’s the performance version. Perfectly placed somewhere inbetween Annecy and Firefly, she has a ‘dependable’ feel about her yet will reward those wanting to cruise just that little bit faster too. Deep keeled and tall rigged, she continues to keep going in the lightest of breezes but still has three reefs, a furling Genoa and a storm Jib so she’s easy to handle in the roughest of conditions too.
As with our other boats, Shikari is privately owned and maintained at any expense. She is British flagged and safety coded by the British MCA for up to 6 persons, although we limit the number of RYA students to just 4 for your comfort. She has a great fit-out including chart plotter, autopilot, wind instrument, depth/speed instruments all at the wheel. She has a Spray hood and a Bimini (even a removable wheel!) so you can escape the sun or the wind as you please. She is an ‘owners version’ yacht so down below there are 2 double cabins and up to 2 berths in the saloon. This gives way to a far bigger heads (toilet/shower area) having all the usual facilities but including a seperate, standing, shower area with full size splash screen. There is a usefully configured galley and a comfortable dining area – the chart table even slides out of the way to create extra space! Shikari also has a TV screen and DVD player…..
Outside, the boats has performance sails, wide – safe decks and cockpit area and a convenient bathing arrangement with a fresh hot water shower.
Ideal for smaller groups and young families, she gives you a great ‘private’ kind of experience and exactly what you might sail as your first charter boat.
