The Basics:

The essential skills and foundational knowledge required for a proficient powerboat driver, forming the core of the International Certificate of Competence, are provided in this course. Emphasizing boat handling and seamanship in powerboats, the curriculum centers around low-speed close-quarters maneuvering, effective man overboard recovery techniques, an introductory exploration of driving at planing speed, and a comprehensive understanding of collision regulations. The training is conducted aboard fast planing ribs in coastal waters, specifically tailored to equip participants with the precise skills necessary for operating a boat in the local maritime environment.   Certificate issuing criteria:

  Self-sufficient powerboater in the right conditions, aware of own limitations and those of the craft

  Predominantly practical but with some classroom elements.
